From Plaza Mayor's cobblestones to airport runway—we navigate the Historic Center's complex streets so you can focus on savoring your last moments in Peru's UNESCO heritage zone.
The Historic Center's beauty comes with logistical challenges: one-way streets, pedestrian zones, limited parking. We've mastered these streets so you don't have to.
Many Historic Center streets are restricted to local traffic, one-way only, or closed to vehicles entirely. Our drivers know which routes are accessible, where to pick up near pedestrian zones, and how to avoid traffic snarls around government buildings.
Your route to the airport passes landmarks you've just explored—a final glimpse of Casa de Aliaga, Torre Tagle Palace, or the Monastery of San Francisco. We take the scenic yet efficient route when traffic permits.
Downtown Lima at rush hour is gridlock. We time pickups to avoid peak congestion and use local shortcuts (Av. Tacna, Av. Alfonso Ugarte) that tourists don't know about.
Historic Center has everything from boutique hotels to backpacker hostels. Whether you're at Gran Hotel Bolivar or a small hostel on Jr. Lampa, we'll find you and navigate the narrow colonial streets.

Your last glimpses of colonial Lima:
From Lima's oldest district to its most modern transportation hub. The airport serves all international and domestic flights with a single terminal. After exploring colonial Lima on foot, the airport's streamlined efficiency feels almost futuristic. Check-in, security, and departure gates are clearly signed. Arrive 3 hours before international flights—security lines can be lengthy during peak tourist season (June-August, December-February). The airport has standard amenities: cafes, restaurants, duty-free shopping, and WiFi throughout.
Modern check-in area with clear signage in Spanish and English
Security takes 15-40 minutes depending on time of day (longer during morning departures)
Post-security area has Peruvian food options if you want one last ceviche or lomo saltado
Duty-free shops sell Peruvian coffee, pisco, alpaca products—last-minute souvenirs
Free WiFi throughout terminal, charging stations at gates

Helpful advice for your transfer
If your hotel is deep in the pedestrian zone, we may need to pick you up at the nearest vehicle-accessible point (often within 100 meters). Be ready to walk a short distance with luggage—cobblestones can be bumpy for wheeled bags.
Bought goods at Mercado Central or from street vendors? Pack valuables and fragile items in carry-on luggage. Markets don't usually provide secure packaging—bring your own wrapping materials if you bought ceramics or glass.
The Historic Center has many casas de cambio with competitive rates. Exchange remaining soles before pickup—airport rates are 5-10% worse. Also, ATMs are plentiful in downtown if you need final cash.
Want last photos of colonial facades? Mention it to the driver—they can slow down near landmarks or make a brief stop at Plaza Mayor (traffic permitting). Most drivers are happy to accommodate if time allows.

We'll coordinate the nearest vehicle-accessible point, usually a nearby corner or small plaza. You'll receive exact coordinates and meeting point details after booking. Typically within 50-100 meters of your hostel door.
Book pickup for 10:30-11:00 AM. This gives 30-45 minutes for transfer (potentially longer if leaving during late-morning traffic), plus 3 hours at airport for check-in and security. Better early than panicked.
We include 10 minutes of waiting time. If hotel checkout is taking longer, communicate with the driver (they'll provide their phone number). Extended waits may incur a small fee to compensate the driver's time.
Standard sedans fit 2 large bags plus shopping bags. If you went heavy on market purchases (textiles, crafts, etc.), mention it when booking and we'll send a minivan with more cargo space.
Weekdays, especially Monday-Friday 7-9 AM and 5-7 PM, are worst. Saturdays have market traffic but it's manageable. Sundays are lightest—government offices closed, less commuter traffic.
Possibly, but not recommended if you have a flight to catch. Lima traffic is unpredictable—every stop risks missing your flight. Save landmark photos for before your pickup time.
Helpful but not required. Your hotel/hostel name and address are usually sufficient. If you're at a private residence or unusual location, GPS coordinates (Google Maps link) ensure the driver finds you quickly.
Lima's Historic Center occasionally has protests or parades. Our drivers monitor local news and will contact you if route adjustments are needed. In extreme cases, we may suggest an alternate pickup point to avoid closed streets.
